Stots is a 2-time NCAA Division II National Wrestling Champion who transitioned to MMA at the age of 22, training under UFC veteran Jens "Lil Evil" Pulver. Stots has compiled an 8-1 Bellator record, with key victories over opponents such as Juan Archuleta and Magomed Magomedov. A former Interim Bellator Bantamweight World Champion, Stots also has 4 KOs and 5 submissions to his name. He wrestled at the University of Nebraska- Kearney with UFC champion Kamaru Usman and holds a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt. Stots turned to wrestling following the death of his mother, Rose Marie Stots, which sparked his competitive drive.
