Veteran Vincent Del Guerra Puts On Striking-Filled Display In Third-Round TKO Win

Vincent Del Guerra is a veteran of this sport, having competed in over 50 fights in a 15+-year span. The former regional middleweight champion has a submission heavy style, with 16 of his 27 finishes coming via the method. One of France’s most experienced MMA fighters, Del Guerra makes his PFL debut tonight after a submission of Nenad Avramovic in May.

Sofiane Aissaoui had a decorated amateur career, winning championships on the world, European, and French levels. In 2021, Aissaoui was awarded the French Ministry of Sports bronze medal for contributions to sport and community. He has won three of his last four, which includes a third-round finish of Nikola Zlatev in February.

Round 1

Del Guerra gets in the butterfly hooks and lands some strong elbows from the bottom. Del Guerra continues to land the elbows, while Assaoui tries to work his way around the legs of Del Guerra. Aissaoui struggles, and the ref warns for position progression. Another warning from the referee. Del Guerra gets back to the fence in a seated position, and he’s able to get back to his feet with strong position. Del Guerra separates from the clinch and lands a kick that rocks Aissaoui! Del Guerra lands with left hands, as Aissaoui tries to grab a leg and get up. Del Guerra threatens a choke at one point, but Del Guerra continues to land a flurry of punches. Del Guerra ends the round on top!

Round 2

Left hands from Del Guerra to start, as he’s marching forward. Del Guerra misses the knee. Aissaoui with an overhand right. Low kick from Assaoui as he’s pressured back. Left hand to the body and a low kick by Del Guerra. Del Guerra gets the action back to the ground, and he goes back to landing with the left hand on a turtled-up Aissaoui. Assaoui is bleeding from the mouth now. Del Guerra lands a couple of strong knees to the body. Right hands to the top of the head by Del Guerra. Right hands from Del Guerra.

The referee warns Aissaoui to improve his position as Del Guerra continues to land. Del Guerra continues to land to the body, as well as an elbow to the head. Aissaoui doesn’t seem to be doing much here to improve his position. Aissaoui has a hold of an arm now in a kimura grip, but he isn’t using it. The ref warns him about this. Another warning from the referee, and Del Guerra gets up over Aissaoui’s back to the horn.
