Ibragim Ibragimov shows all-around domination

Ibragim Ibragimov started training Greco-Roman wrestling at the age of 6, and he’s taken that into a 9-0 MMA run thus far. The Manchester Top Team & Team Nurmagomedov product has six finishes and has won a regional lightweight title. The wrestling specialist is 3-0 in the PFL thus far, defeating Josh Reed, Nacho Campos, and Kenny Mokhonoana.

Mathys Duragrin is a 4-0 fighter who is known for slick ground control, sharp transitions, and improvements each fight. Duragrin is a French fighter who has won three amateur MMA titles and fights out of the Old School Academy. Duragrin made his PFL debut at the 2024 PFL European Championships in December, defeating Yassin Chtatou.

Round 1

High kick from Ibragimov. Another kick from Ibragimov as he pressures. Ibragimov misses a big right hand. The left hand lands, however. Ibragimov with a high kick. Low kick from Ibragimov. Ibragimov lands a left hand and gets to Duragrin’s back standing. Ibragimov is pressing Duragrin against the fence. Ibragimov with a takedown. Duragrin scrambles right back to his feet; however, Ibragimov brings him right back to the fence. Ibragimov brings Duragrin down, with Duragrin seated against the fence. Ibragimov lands several punches. Ibragimov continues to land the left hand.

Duragrin tries to scramble and lock up a leg, but Ibragimov stands up out of it. Ibragimov lands a series of leg kicks to a grounded Duragrin, followed by a strong right hand to end the round.

Round 2

Left hand from Duragrin. Combination by Ibragimov. Left kick by Ibragimov. Ibragimov presses Duragrin into the fence. Ninja choke attempt leads to Ibragimov moving aside and scoring another takedown. Knees from Ibragimov, who is bringing the Dagestani-style pressure he and the rest of Team Nurmagomedov are known for. Ibragimov pressing a seated Duragrin. Duragrin now back to a knee, but Ibragimov still presses. Knee to the body by Ibragimov, and it seems to have hurt Duragrin. Duragrin is covering up as Ibragimov swarms. Duragrin is back to his feet, but Ibragimov pressures and takes him down again. More left hands to the body by Ibragimov. Duragrin gets back to his feet and escapes with about 40 seconds left. Strong spinning kick to the midsection. Ibragimov presses Duragrin into the fence again. He defends the takedown, but eats a knee and a kick before the horn.

Round 3

Ibragimov misses a high kick. Straight by Duragrin. One-two misses by Duragrin. Right hand to the body by Duragrin. Ibragimov throws now, showcasing a variety of attacks. One-two by Ibragimov. One-two by Ibragimov leads to another takedown attempt. Ibragimov presses Duragrin against the fence. Duragrin is able to work his way off the fence. One-twos from each man. Ibragimov misses with the left. One-two from Ibragimov. Low kick from Ibragimov.

Ibragimov presses Duragrin once more, but Duragrin gets away. Front kick to the body appears to hurt Duragrin. Another combination and another pressing by Ibragimov. Separation, but Ibragimov lands an elbow. Another series of strikes by Ibragimov. Right hand by Ibragimov. Right hand by Duragrin. Duragrin now goes for the takedown! He nearly gets it, but Ibragimov was smart enough to stop it! Now Ibragimov gets to Duragrin’s back. Ibragimov hunts for a late choke but can’t get it before the final horn.
