Dean Garnett takes a 0 and the first spot in 2025 PFL Europe Bantamweight Finals

Dean Garnett is a 15-year veteran of the sport who comes into tonight with a 13-3-1 record. The English native is a former regional featherweight champion and has scored eight finishes to his credit. Garnett won his opening-round matchup in July, besting Tuomas Gronvall via decision.

Jan Cieplowski is a perfect 9-0 in MMA entering tonight, seeking to show why he is the top bantamweight on the European scene. Cieplowski, who has four finishes, is looking to show why he has been undervalued in MMA thus far. He came out on top in his first-round matchup in July, scoring a first-round finish of Julien Lopez.

Round 1

The two circling. Cieplowski with a round kick to start things off. Front kick by Cieplowski. Garnett is staying in the center while Cieplowski circles. Garnett misses a right hand. Inside leg kick by Cieplowski. Garnett misses a left. Left hand misses for Cieplowski. Jab and a front kick to the body by Cieplowski. Cieplowski misses a spinning back fist, and Garnett takes advantage with a takedown. Cieplowski lands elbows and scrambles back to his feet. Front kick to the body again for Cieplowski. Low kick by Cieplowski.

Front kick by Cieplowski, and Garnett lands a right hand. A front kick by Cieplowski is caught, and Garnett takes him down. Cieplowski counters with a guillotine! He doesn’t get the submission but uses it to work a body guard. Cieplowski’s guard is preventing a lot of the offensive efforts of Garnett. Garnett shoots in and scores the takedown. Garnett trying to get on top. Garnett is moving into North-South position two minutes into the round. Garnett is trying to distribute his weight. He’s now landing to the head. Garnett presses Cieplowski into the fence.

Garnett trying to get into a backpack position. That’s brief, but he’s able to return the action to the mat. Cieplowski scrambles and takes the back of Garnett. Cieplowski locks in a body triangle. Cieplowski threatens a choke, but Garnett is working wrist control. Garnett works his way back into top position. He strikes to the horn, but he does so in the guard of Cieplowski.

Round 3

Garnett coming forward. Cieplowski with a couple of body kicks. Garnett answers with a couple of jabs. Cieplowski goes for a takedown, but Garnett grabs a hold of him on the roll through. Garnett with a guillotine! It’s tight! There’s the submission!
